Jerry Dean Jacobs DECATUR - Jerry Dean Jacobs, 77, passed into God's Eternal Presence on August 10, 2024. Funeral services will be 1:00 PM, Saturday, August 17, 2024, at Emmanuel Baptist Church, Decatur. Visitation will be 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, Saturday, August 17, 2024, at Emmanuel Baptist Church, Decatur. Interment will be in Point Pleasant Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Jerry's honor may be made to Emmanuel Baptist Church. Jerry was born the son of William V. and Jessie Darlene (Skinner) Jacobs. He graduated from Mt. Zion High School in 1966 and served in the US Army for three years. As a hard worker, he retired from the City of Decatur on October 5, 2012. Jerry had also worked at Caterpillar, Wild Daisy Florist, Portec, Lazy N Camper/Trailer Sales, and Vanderlaan Automotive. Jerry was a beloved member of Emmanuel Baptist Church.
