Dennis Duane Terril June 21, 1948 - August 12, 2024 ATWOOD - Dennis Duane Terril, 76, of Atwood, IL, passed away at his home on Tuesday, August 12, 2024, surrounded by his family after succumbing to lung cancer. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 20, 2024, at the United Church of Atwood, 210 N. Main St. Atwood. Burial will be in Mackville Cemetery, Atwood. Masonic Rites will be held at 6:00 p.m., Monday, August 19, 2024, at Hilligoss Shrader Funeral Home, 66 East US Highway 36, Atwood, with visitation immediately following until 8:00 p.m. Denny was born June 21, 1948, at Jarman Hospital in Tuscola, IL, the son of John N. and Lela F. (Fitzgerald) Terril, Sr. He grew up in rural Atwood and graduated from Atwood High School in 1966. After graduation he was hired at Caterpillar Tractor Company, where he would work for 44 years, retiring in 2010. He held many positions such as Stewart, Chief Stewart and Committeeman of the UAW Local 751. He married Linda Helm on
