Decatur - Jonetta "Joan" Butler (Smith), 77, of Decatur, IL, passed away on August 1, 2024. Born in Decatur on March 8, 1947, Joan was a cherished figure in her community and beloved by all who knew her.Joan was a woman whose presence was a blessing to her family and friends. Known for her heart of gold, she cherished the moments spent with loved ones, especially during family cookouts and holiday gatherings. Her warmth and generosity touched many lives, creating longlasting memories for those she loved.Joan is survived by her sister Sandi Badger; her children, Jeffrey Butler (Beth) and Rhonda Butler; Grandchildren, Cori, Chris (Katie), Casey (Brittany), Shelby, and Ashleigh Butler; and great-grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her husband, David Jay Butler; her parents, Walter H. and Asilee A.
